A tent (pronounced zhàng peng) is a shelter erected on the ground to protect against wind, rain, and sun, and to provide temporary accommodation. It is mostly made of canvas and, along with its supporting structure, can be easily disassembled and moved. Tents are carried in parts and assembled on-site, requiring various components and tools. Understanding the names and uses of each component and being familiar with the tent's structure is essential for quick and easy setup.

Sports hiking tents, outdoor recreation tents, and creative advertising tents enrich our lives and improve people's quality of life. In the future, tents will enter our daily lives with even more functions and uses.

The most important part of a tent is its fabric, which falls under the category of canvas. China is a major tent producer, primarily exporting. Tents can be categorized by use: tourist tents, disaster relief tents, advertising tents, car tents, military tents, etc. Tent fabrics are mostly made of polyester taffeta, nylon rainproof fabric, PVC waterproof Oxford cloth, and membrane materials. They generally use polyester industrial yarn or polyester staple fiber as raw materials, woven into fabric and then finished according to different requirements. For example, PVC or polyurethane coatings and silicone impregnation finishes may be applied, while awnings require UV-resistant treatments. They are generally double-layered, with an inner layer made of a composite coating material and reinforced with PU strips. Tents typically offer good tensile strength, rain protection, and UV protection.
